Network Consultant/Systems Engineer

 

·   Deloyed to Camp Dalhke (FOB) in support of RC East Special Forces Command. Maintained  VOIP telephone, data, and Internet services on a multi-classified breakout networks over satellite and black core communications. Transferred to Bagram Air Force Base. 

·   Performed an Active Directory Migration using a combination of quest power tools on the command line with powershell and gui based migration utilities. Knowledgeable with Dell Migration Manager for Active Directory. FSMO role transfers both seizure and soft transfers. Used SID History attribute on windows 7 workstations to be able to seamlessly logon to the new domain while retaining all files on the users desktop.

·   Maintained and Supported a Battalion Task Force during operational missions and on call support for J3 requirements.  Deployed Windows 2008 R2 WDS services to 5 different special forces sites down range enabling the local  technicians to perform imaging services locally.

·   Deployed GPO policies to automatically deploy shared network printers from a print server to domain workstations so the user has immediate access to his or her closest proximity network printer. Automating the need for a help-desk representative to intervene to have the printer or printers loaded manually saving hundreds man hours permanently

·   Installed multiple Microsoft Windows Deployment Servers to allow imaging to take place and replicate amongst multiple physical locations separated by multiple WAN circuits.  Also familiar with the conversation of legacy ghost images to a windows imaging format.

·   Familiar with Microsoft Sysprep, KMS management service, WDS servers for re-imagine purposes and automatic activation.  Deployed Microsoft driver injection to allow a universal image to take place instead of having multiple images per piece of hardware.

·  Network SME working with Cisco/Brocade/Arista Datacenter Class products and VMware NSX.

·  Replaced Cisco 3750 core switch stack with Cisco Nexus 5596 Switches and 2248 Fabric Extenders with 10G connectivity to servers and zero unplanned downtime.
